STUDY Day 15—What is Release

Release-Getting Burned

Remember back to when you were a small child in the kitchen watching a loved one cooking dinner, take a moment to recall the details.  It was all very interesting, the ingredient prep, the sounds, the smells. You wanted to help and be part of it, maybe you were given a task to do, or perhaps you were impatient barely able to wait to eat. At the youngest of ages, when you reached for the stove what was the first thing that happened?  Usually someone swatted your hand away or raised their voice to stop you form doing something that would harm you.  If you went past that uncomfortableness wanting to see what would happen perhaps you touched the stove anyway. Or maybe what they were saying was confusing and you didn’t understand the warning and you still reached for the stove.  Perhaps you pulled the pot off and spilled its hot contents on you or the floor, perhaps you touched the stove and for a moment didn’t know what to do next as your hand had a sensation that was new to you. Only after did you learn that feeling was you burning.

After the first experience if we didn’t remember not to touch the stove, when we put our hand on a hot stove as a child the pain was the signal to pull back, stop touching what was causing us pain. When it comes to emotional pain we have a very similar detection system, we feel pain and we are encouraged to pull back, to stop whatever is causing us pain.  With the physical, over time we are taught to “push” through pain or “suck it up” and do things that hurt.  We are shown when we are emotional to “push” through the moment or “suck it up”.  Over time this becomes the norm and we think we are fine.  We think the fact that we control our emotions or our physical pain means there is nothing wrong.

No matter how strong your mind and body get they can not override aspects of energy that follow universal laws more powerful than mind and body control.  Energetics can not be fooled, the truth will always show up somewhere, either in symptoms, feelings of discomfort, inability to manifest or connect; we may feel confusion when the flow of life ceases to follow what is expected, going against the grain of our very existence, or experience coercion of spirit, the universe taking control and forcing the direction of life to meet the soul’s need on a greater level.

What is release?

Release is the moment we realize that we are controlling things in an unnatural way and we stop. A large part of releasing is being able to move the conscious control out of the way, letting energetics do what it naturally does.  We have been spending time with perception, moving towards the idea that what we have learned to be true around us may not actually be in alignment with our true self.  What is on the outside of our experience, our controlled emotions and physical behavior, might be hiding what is on the inside, our truth, compassion, vulnerability, full expression of self. What we will be doing next is learning to see how we, as these amazingly powerful people, have learned to step in the way and hold energy at attention, unable to move from the space it is in, creating build up and eventual blockage energetically in the space that has our attention.
